The Story behind “Dread Champion”

Jeremiah 20:11 “But the LORD is with me like a dread champion; Therefore my persecutors will stumble and not prevail. They will be utterly ashamed, because they have failed, With an everlasting disgrace that will not be forgotten.”

The story behind “Dread Champion” and its meaning began in December of 2023. I was going through extensive and heavy deliverance from satanic ritual abuse (SRA), which is a story for a different time that I will get into. I was at a New Years Eve service with a prophet named Daniel Mccormick. He spoke prophecies and words of knowledge into my life that no one else knew about or knew I was going through. He called me a “dread champion” and an “oak tree”. I had never heard those terms before, so of course my inquisitive nature was not satisfied with only receiving those words, I had to ask him what they meant. He said a dread champion were those people in the Bible who liked to slay the enemy for fun, persons like King David, Joshua, etc. He said “you’re like a David, or a Joshua…and these people, the champions of the Bible, prayed under trees”. Little did he know that I in fact do like to pray under trees. My most memorable encounters with the Lord have been under trees.

This prophet also didn’t know that I had just come out of the extensive deliverance I had to go through from my satanic ritual abuse (SRA). To go through this kind of deliverance is incredibly gut wrenching, tiring, taxing on your body, mind, and spirit. It takes a lot of work, discipline, determination, and grit to come against the programming and witchcraft that victims of SRA suffer.

I needed those words, for him to call that out in me, for him to show me I am indeed a dread champion. I felt incredibly beat down during this time in my life. Although I knew I was capable of enduring this fight for my freedom, I needed someone to call out that strength in me. It was what I needed to help me keep fighting.

So much of my life made sense after going through my extensive deliverance. I finally understood why I was attacked by the enemy so much. I literally had a death certificate on my life I had to break. It made sense to me why I had so many near death experiences and why I possessed a certain amount of discernment and anointing to discern occult things and help people be set free from it. I understood why it was I had an anointing and calling from the Lord to see people be healed and set free.

I share my story to say this: I AM NOT SPECIAL.

There are far more people out there who have only survived life by the skin of their teeth. There are far more people out there who the enemy has also worked hard to take you out. My message to you is: you too are a dread champion. You know who you are. You are a warrior. You are a champion. You are a fighter.

Dread: to fear greatly, to be in terror of, to feel extreme reluctance to meet or face

Does the enemy fear you? Does he dread to meet you? Does he dread when you open your mouth, and fear the powerful prayers you’ll engage in? Does he dread when you stretch out your hand to heal the sick, to lend a helping hand to someone drowning, to extend an embrace that is healing? Does he dread the calling in your life, because it will jeapordize his own plan to kill, steal, and destroy?

Dear dread champion, don’t be afraid. If you feel like you’ve fought a battle you can no longer fight, get up and keep fighting. Understand you are dreadful to the enemy. You are wonderfully and fearfully made.

This dread champion fights and roots for your healing and deliverance. You will be free, and the plans of the enemy will be thwarted and eliminated in your life.

Pursue Jesus Christ, he is the one who sets free, he is our ultimate dread champion.
